J.A. Michell Engineering was started in the mid sixties by John Michell in the outskirts of London, producing parts for various turntables. In the early 1980s the Gyrodec, the first all Michell product, was introduced in its earliest guise, and it's a design that with evolution still exists today and is still every bit as relevant and ground breaking now as it was then. Sadly in 2003 John passed away but the family has not only kept the brand alive and well they have also sympathetically advanced the products in ways that are very much true to the original philosophy.
