The M2 Signature pre amplifier is available in two versions, the line level only version and the M2 Signature Phono which adds an internal MM phono stage. The line level stage employs a 6SN7 valve and is fed from a valve rectified and regulated supply comprising a 6X5 and ECL82. The Phono stage equipped version includes an ECC83 and 6DJ8 for its MM phono stage.

The output stage includes switchable feedback, with it on the output impedance is lowered enabling it to drive more difficult loads (i.e. power amplifiers whose input impedance is below 50K Ohms) and the overall gain drops (please see specifications below).

The Signature upgrades over the standard version include upgraded Nichrome resistors, copper foil in oil capacitors, AN-V silver internal wiring and mono stepped attenuators.
