The Black Shadow monoblocks feature the mighty 845 output valve in our favourite circuit topology - single ended with no negative feedback. This massive directly heated triode produces 25 substantial watts which are suitable to drive the large majority of loudspeakers with incredible grip, dynamics and realism.

The half width chassis is made from aluminium and there's a volume/gain control on the front which can be useful especially when they are used with noisy active preamplifiers or very efficient speakers.

There’s a wonderful sense of effortlessness to the sound with the Black Shadows, and few amplifiers can match their low frequency tonality and flow. They produce a full bodied sound and scale that anyone familiar with the sound of large directly heated triodes will recognise.

This is the 'standard' version of these amplifiers which offer exceptional value for money. There are numerous made to order versions also available including options such as pure silver wired primary and secondaries on the output transformers (and such is the quantity of silver wire required the price varies with the price of silver!).
