The GT stands for 'Grande Twin', and sums up one of the key upgrades over the standard Duo SD, as this model features two 12" bass drivers rather than a single unit. This naturally doubles the surface area and therefore will bring a great reduction in distortion, improving effortlessness and aiding projection. The bass module is now powered by a 1 kilowatt power amplifier, and naturally retains the DSP crossover technology that is so useful throughout the range.
The tweeter is borrowed from the Trio and amongst the various improvements this brings includes a lighter diaphragm, enabling it to move faster and all things being equal will facilitates a more extended very high frequency response.
The cabinet with its decoupled mid range horn lends an architectural quality to the design which serves to reduce the visual bulk when viewed from the side, making it a sonic and cosmetic step up over the Duo SD.
