The SPU Royal G mk II is the sixth and top tier in the SPU range and was introduced to be celebrate the 80th anniversary of Ortofon.
The star of this model is the Nude Replicant 100 stylus, the top Ortofon stylus that has the benefit of low mass, and a large vertical contact area with the groove.
The coils are made from a gold and silver alloy. This cartridge tracks at a lower weight than most SPUs at 3gm thanks to a revised damping system.
This cartridge is suited to arms that are moderate to high mass and have an 'SME' type headshell connection.
Due to their nature, there can be a lead time on SPU orders, so please ask before ordering if delivery time scale is critical.
As MC cartridges do not have removable stylus assemblies Ortofon have an 'exchange' scheme where your old worn/damaged Ortofon MC cartridge is used as a credit against any other Ortofon MC cartridge.
