I thought the days of good budget CD players were long gone, but then Pro-Ject surprised us with the CD Box E.
This is a miniature sized CD player, with all the basic essentials you could ever need, there's a remote control and both analogue and digital outputs for example. To keep the size so compact an external 'wall wart' power supply is used, which helps reduce noise getting into the audio circuitry.
The 'red book' stand slot loading mechanism is shock proof mounted to reduce its susceptibility to vibration and footfalls in normal use, and the slot is fashioned through the aluminium fascia which is available in either silver or black.
