The Amethyst is the top model in the slightly confusingly named Oyster series of cartridges from Sumiko. Despite apparent physical similarities to the other 4 models that share the same appearance, this is a near total reworking of the design, so it stands alone and cannot be fitter with the styli from other models in the range.
A new generator assembly is the heart of it all, and it combined with the lightweight Alnico magnets results in a low 2.5mV output. On the Aluminium cantilever is a Nude Fine Line contact stylus
